The band is the floor and ceiling the pricing engine uses for window cleaning across the GTA — the low end a small interior-only job, the high end a large house with exterior access at height. Generated from the price table rather than typed here, so a reprice moves it. It is not an average of past bookings.

Post this taskWhat window cleaning actually costs here, and why
Window cleaning is priced by access, not by glass. A ground-floor pane and the identical pane on a second storey are the same square metre of work and completely different pieces of work, because one is reached with an arm and the other with a ladder or a water-fed pole. Everything about a quote follows from that, which is why the useful thing to put in a task post is not "clean my windows" but a rough count of panes and which storey they are on.
Interior and exterior are also separate decisions. Interior glass is straightforward almost everywhere and is the half most people underrate — it is what you actually look through, and in a home with lake-facing or south-facing glass it films up faster than dust does. Exterior is where the access question lives. On a bungalow or a townhouse front, an exterior clean from the ground is quick. On a three-storey semi with a rear elevation over a deck, it is a ladder job with footing to consider, and any Tasker who says so before quoting is telling you something useful.
Condos and apartments have a rule you cannot work around, and it is worth knowing before you post. In most GTA towers the exterior of the glass is the corporation's responsibility and is done on a building schedule by a contractor with anchors and a swing stage — an individual is not permitted to clean it, and no arrangement between you and a Tasker changes that. What is yours is the interior, the frames and the tracks, and on a balcony the inside face of the rail glass. Post for that and you will get sensible offers; post for exterior high-rise glass and the honest answer is that nobody here can take it.
Screens are the step most people skip and the one that undoes the rest. A window cleaned behind a screen that has not been washed will look hazy again the first time it rains, because the mesh holds a season of road grit and releases it onto the glass. Taking screens out, washing them and putting them back is a small amount of extra time and it is the difference between glass that stays clear for months and glass that looks tired in a fortnight. Say whether the windows have screens when you post.
Tracks and frames are the part that changes how the result looks and the part most people forget to ask for. Grit collects in the bottom rail of a slider and in the corners of a casement, and glass cleaned above a dirty track reads as unfinished within a week. It is a small addition to the work and a large addition to how the job looks, so name it in the post rather than hoping it is assumed.

Local knowledge
Priced for how the GTA actually lives
Four things that change a window cleaning quote here, and nowhere else.
Access, not area
The storey decides the price, not the size of the pane
A ground-floor window and the identical one above it are the same glass and two different pieces of work — one is an arm, the other a ladder or a water-fed pole with footing to consider. A pane count with storeys attached is the single most useful line in a window-cleaning post.
Condo rule
In a tower, the outside of the glass is not yours to book
In most GTA buildings exterior glass is the corporation's responsibility and is done on a schedule by a contractor with anchors and a swing stage. The interior, the frames, the tracks and the inside face of balcony rail glass are yours — post for those and the offers make sense.
Lake and south-facing glass
Some interior glass films faster than the rest of the house dusts
Homes built to look at the water along the Lakeshore, and any large south-facing elevation, collect a fine film that ordinary interior cleaning does not remove. It is the most common reason a house that was cleaned last month still looks hazy through the windows.
Tracks and frames
Clean glass over a dirty track reads as unfinished
Grit collects in the bottom rail of a slider and the corners of a casement, and it migrates back onto the glass within days. Adding tracks and frames is a small amount of extra work and most of the difference between a job that looks done and one that looks nearly done.
What to put in the post
- Roughly how many panes, and which storey each group is on
- Interior only, or interior and exterior
- Whether tracks and frames are included
- Whether there is a deck, a slope or planting under any window
- For a condo: that it is interior and balcony glass only

Questions
Frequently asked
GTA-specific answers to what people actually search for.
Can someone clean the outside of my condo windows?
In most GTA towers, no — exterior glass is the corporation's responsibility and is done on a building schedule by a contractor with anchors and a swing stage. What can be booked is the interior, the frames and tracks, and the inside face of balcony rail glass, which is most of what you actually look through.
How do I describe a window cleaning job accurately?
Count the panes roughly and say which storey they are on. That is what decides whether the job is an arm, a ladder or a water-fed pole, and it is the difference between a firm offer and a range. Add whether tracks and frames are wanted, and whether anything sits underneath the windows.
How often should windows be cleaned in the GTA?
Twice a year suits most homes — once after winter, when salt spray and grit have finished, and once in autumn. South-facing and lake-facing glass films faster and often wants a third interior visit in between, which is a shorter and cheaper job than a full inside-and-out clean.
Are the tracks included?
Only if you ask. Grit in the bottom rail of a slider migrates back onto clean glass within days, so tracks and frames are most of the difference between a job that looks finished and one that looks nearly finished. It is a small addition to the work — name it in the post.
Is exterior window cleaning safe on an older house?
It depends on footing more than height. A ladder needs level ground and something solid to stand on, and a rear elevation over a deck, a slope or a garden bed changes what is reasonable. Say what is under each window and a Tasker will tell you honestly what they can reach.
