What people ask for

Some of it arrives at your door. Some of it just arrives.

Taskly is not a trades directory with a few extras bolted on. It is one marketplace running two kinds of work, and the second is bigger than most people expect.

Most of these come to your door

Trades, repairs, cleaning, moving, gardens.

The work that needs a person in the room. You describe the job — a leaking tap, a two-bedroom move, a hedge that got away from you — and Taskers who cover your postcode send a fixed price for it. Nobody quotes by the hour, and nobody is paid before you say the work is finished.

Down to the job

The specific things people post

A category is a shelf; these are the things on it. Each one opens onto what the job usually involves, what moves the price, and the Taskers who do it.

These are forty-eight of the full list. Open any category above to see every job named under it — or skip the naming entirely and describe yours in the composer.

Where Taskly works

Toronto and thirteen cities around it. Every city hub shows the tasks open there right now — so you can see the demand before you post, not after.

Comparing local Taskers for one job

These pages go a level deeper than a category: who covers that city, what the job normally costs there, and the questions people ask about it locally.

How it works

Whichever category you land in, the job runs the same way

  1. 01

    Describe it

A sentence, a photo, or a voice note. No forms to decode, and you do not need the trade word for it.

  2. 02

    Compare offers

Reviewed local Taskers send fixed prices on your task. You compare the people and the prices side by side, and pick the person — not a slot.

  3. 03

    Pay when it’s done

Taskly holds the money from the moment you accept, and releases it after you confirm the work is finished.

  • Identity verified

Government ID, checked before anyone can offer.

  • Interviewed & approved

A call with our team, every Tasker.

  • Money held by Taskly

Cashless, receipted, nothing paid out early.

  • You release it

When you confirm the work is finished.

Answers

Questions people ask here

What services can I get on Taskly?
131 categories and 1,321 specific tasks, from cleaning, plumbing and moving to designers, tutors, accountants, photographers and web developers. If what you need is not on the list, describe it in your own words when you post — Taskers see the task and decide whether they can do it.
Can I get business or creative work done, or is it only tasks around the house?
Both. Business & Professional is the largest group on Taskly by search demand — bigger than any of the trades — and it covers accounting, legal help, admin and virtual assistants, translation and IT support. Creative, Design & Digital covers logos, websites, copywriting, photography and video. That work runs exactly like a home task: you post the brief, compare fixed-price offers, and pick the person.
Is it free to post a task?
Yes. Posting a task is free, browsing this page is free, and comparing offers is free. Nothing is charged unless you accept an offer.
How do I get a price — is it hourly?
It is not hourly. You post the task and Taskers send fixed-price offers on it, so you are comparing whole prices for the whole job rather than rates. There is no meter and no bill at the end that is bigger than the number you agreed.
How much does it cost to hire someone in Toronto?
It depends on the job, and the honest answer is a range rather than a number. Taskly publishes cost guides for the most-asked services — cleaning, handyman, movers, snow removal, junk removal, gutter cleaning and tutoring — each showing the band that job normally lands between in the GTA and what moves it. The fees Taskly charges are set out in full on the pricing page.
How are Taskers checked?
Every Tasker verifies a government ID before they can make an offer, and speaks to our team before they are approved. Ratings and reviews on a Tasker’s profile come from finished Taskly tasks, so what you read is from people who actually hired them.
When do I pay, and who holds the money?
When you accept an offer, the money is held by Taskly rather than paid out. The Tasker is paid after you confirm the work is finished. It is cashless and receipted, and nothing is released early.
Do I need to be at home while the work is done?
For a job at your place, usually yes — the Tasker confirms they are at the right door with a four-digit code you give them when they arrive. You can agree access another way with the Tasker if you would rather not be there. Design, writing, accounting and other remote work needs nothing from you but the brief.
What if the job I need is not in any category?
Describe it anyway. The categories exist so you can find people faster and see what similar tasks involve — the task itself is whatever you write, and a photo or a voice note works as well as a sentence.
Where does Taskly operate?
Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area — including Mississauga, Brampton, Markham, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton, Milton and the Durham cities. Each city has its own hub showing the tasks open there now.

Weighing Taskly against something else? There is a page for that:

Still not on the list? Describe it anyway.

The categories are a map, not a limit. Write what you need in a sentence and let Taskers tell you what it takes.
