Local knowledge
Priced for how the GTA actually lives
Four things that change a cleaning quote here, and nowhere else.
Condos
Service-lift bookings
Most downtown and Mississauga towers need the service elevator booked before equipment comes in, and many register your cleaner at the desk. Midweek-only lift windows are why the same job quotes higher on a Saturday.
Housing stock
Older homes take longer
Original tile, deep grout and detailed trim through East York, Etobicoke and the Danforth add hours, not materials. The same floor area in a 2015 condo cleans faster and quotes lower.
Month-end
Lease turnover crunch
Ontario leases turn over at month end, concentrating every move-out clean in the city into about three days. Availability drops and prices move with it — the last two days of the month are the hardest to book in the GTA.
Nov – Apr
Road salt season
Entryways, hallway floors and carpets carry salt residue for six months of the year. A winter clean here is materially heavier than the same job in a milder market, and entry matting is the first thing a good cleaner asks about.
What a standard clean includes
- Floors vacuumed and mopped throughout
- Kitchen surfaces and the outside of appliances
- Bathrooms — shower, toilet, sink, mirrors
- Dusting, sills and a general tidy reset
- Bins emptied; linens changed on request
A deep clean adds what a standard one skips on purpose: inside appliances, grout, baseboards and window tracks.
Try nowWhat moves the price
- Home size, and how many bathrooms
- Condition — the first clean after a long gap takes longer
- Condo access: lift booking and desk sign-in
- Timing — month-end is the crunch window here
- Add-ons: oven, fridge, inside windows
What to ask before you accept
- Exactly what is included, and what is not
- Do they bring their own equipment and products?
- How long will it take, and how many people?
- Have they worked in a building like yours?
- Is there a better rate for a recurring visit?
A good Tasker answers most of these in the offer itself.

Frequently asked
GTA-specific answers to what people actually search for.
How much does a house cleaner cost in Toronto?
A standard clean on a two-bedroom apartment sits at the lower end of the band above; a three-bedroom house is meaningfully higher. Deep and move-out cleans cost more again, because condition, appliances and baseboards add hours rather than materials. Use the calculator for your own size.
Do cleaners bring their own supplies?
Most GTA cleaners bring their own vacuum, mop and products, and say so in the offer. If you would rather they used yours — a stone counter needing a specific product, or a scent sensitivity at home — say so in the task and offers usually come back slightly lower.
How long does a professional clean take?
A regular clean on a two-bedroom Toronto apartment takes two to three hours; a three-bedroom house runs three to four. Deep and move-out cleans take four to eight, and cleaners often work in pairs to finish a whole house inside one afternoon.
How do I book a cleaner in a Toronto condo?
Ask your property manager whether the service elevator needs booking — most downtown buildings do, and some want 48 hours. Book that window before confirming a time, register the cleaner at the desk if there is a visitor log, and check loading-dock hours for heavy equipment.
What does a move-out clean involve in Ontario?
It returns a rental to the state it was received: inside appliances, baseboards, window tracks and everything a regular clean skips on purpose. Worth knowing that Ontario landlords cannot require professional cleaning as a lease condition, and normal wear is not chargeable.
What is the difference between a deep clean and a regular clean?
A regular clean maintains what is visible — floors, surfaces, bathrooms, kitchen. A deep clean reaches what regular cleans skip: inside appliances, behind furniture, baseboards, window tracks, grout and light fittings. Most GTA homes want one seasonally, or after winter salt.
What does post-renovation cleaning involve?
Construction dust is fine enough to settle into vents, fabric and window tracks, then resurface for days after the crew leaves. A proper post-reno clean uses a HEPA vacuum rather than a domestic one, and it usually needs two passes to stop the dust returning.
How often should you book a cleaner?
Fortnightly suits most GTA households and keeps the cost predictable. Weekly makes sense with children, pets or a shared home; monthly works if you maintain things between visits. The first clean after a long gap takes longer, so consistency saves money over a year.
Can I book a cleaner for the same day?
Sometimes, depending on who is free near you. Month-end is the hardest window in the GTA, because lease turnovers concentrate demand into the same three days. Posting two or three days ahead gets you more offers and noticeably better prices.
