Why do staffing work through Taskly

Free to browse and quote

No lead fees. You never pay to see a task or to make an offer on one.

You set your price

The posted budget is the poster’s starting point. Your offer is yours.

Payment secured upfront

The poster’s money is held by Taskly before you start the work.

20% service fee

Charged only when you complete a task. Nothing is deducted for quoting.

Paid after 3 days

Payment releases when the poster confirms, or automatically 3 days after the work is done.

Cover shifts, not a permanent position

The measured searches that reach this page — server, bartender, receptionist — are mostly permanent restaurant and front-desk roles, and that is not what this is. Nothing posted here is a position: no roster, no schedule set by somebody else, no notice period. It is one booking, with an hour count and a budget on it, taken by a person who already knows the work.

What the tasks actually look like

A barista for a pop-up market weekend, somebody on the registration table at a conference, a bartender for a backyard party in Etobicoke, an extra pair of hands through one busy service, a front desk covered while the regular person is away. Short and specific, weighted to evenings and weekends, with the finish time written into the task.

Questions

Staffing work on Taskly

The ones people in this trade actually ask before they sign up.

Is any of this a position with set hours?

No. Every booking is its own task with its own window and its own price, and there is no roster behind it. If what you want is fixed weekly hours and a payslip, an employer is what you are looking for and Taskly is not one. Plenty of people here take this work around something else that is.

What about the care work in this category?

Nurse, RN and RPN are protected titles in Ontario and belong to people registered with the College of Nurses — do not use one you do not hold. Companionship, meal help and a few hours of company for an older adult are not nursing, and they are what actually gets posted. Taskly does not run police or vulnerable-sector checks on anyone.

How do I price a few hours?

Price the whole window rather than an hourly rate you hope holds. Setting up and packing down are real time and posters routinely forget to count them, so read the finish time in the task and offer on the hours you will actually be standing there. Crossing the GTA on a Saturday night is part of that window too.

Taskly is new in the GTA. Fewer Taskers means your offer actually gets read instead of sitting behind two hundred others — and the people here first will hold the first reviews.

Every word of that is true, and it is the argument no big platform can copy.
