Other things people post
Not what you came for? These are jobs Taskers pick up across the GTA — one post gets you offers on any of them.

A week of dinners, cooked
A cook fills the fridge for the week — your list, your dietary needs, containers labelled.
Post this task
Before the first snow
Gutters cleared, hoses drained and the walk ready, so December is not the first time anyone looks.

Two people and a van
The couch, the bed frame and the eleven boxes — lifted, moved and set down where they go.
Post this taskWhat gift wrapping and delivery actually costs here, and why
Almost everyone who arrives here wants one of two things: somebody to wrap what they have already bought, or somebody to get a gift into a particular pair of hands on a particular day. Neither of those is a shop, and it is worth saying so before anything else. Nobody here holds stock, keeps a catalogue or fulfils an order for a hamper you have never seen. What you are hiring is a person with time, hands and a car — they wrap what you supply, or buy to your list and hand you the receipt, and they carry it where it needs to be.
Wrapping is the larger half of this by some distance. A stack of presents, an evening, and a pair of hands that are better at it than yours are. It gets booked hardest in the fortnight before a December deadline and around every other gift-giving date in the year. What makes a wrapping task quotable is boringly specific: how many items, roughly what shapes — boxes take a minute, bottles, bicycles and soft toys do not — whether you are supplying paper and tags or want them bought to a brief, whether anything needs writing on, and whether it happens at your kitchen table or the pile goes away and comes back.
The gift calendar in this region is not one December. Diwali, Eid, Lunar New Year and Christmas each have their own week, their own colours and their own conventions about how something is presented and handed over, and birthday and wedding season runs across all of it. Naming the occasion tells a Tasker more than the item count does. There is a tail end to it too: foil, glitter and laminated papers are not blue-bin recyclable in Toronto, and ribbon jams the sorting equipment, which is a decent practical argument for plain kraft paper and a fabric ribbon on the pile you are having done.
Getting it there is mostly about the handover rather than the distance — the driving argument belongs to our delivery page. The thing that goes wrong is arriving when nobody is in, which turns a gift into a parcel on a dark porch, so agree the fallback before the day: a neighbour, a second attempt, or the concierge if the building will take it. Ask about that last one first, because plenty of GTA towers will not accept an item at the desk from anybody who is not a courier on their list, and the workaround is usually that the recipient comes down — which is not much of a surprise. Anything perishable has a clock on it: chocolate in July, flowers at any time, anything that has to stay cold.
And one clear boundary. Paid alcohol delivery in Ontario is licensed work — an AGCO-licensed retailer or licensee, with age verified at the door — and cannabis may only be sold and delivered through authorized retail channels. Asking somebody to buy a bottle and drop it at an address is not a shortcut around either, and a Tasker who declines that is right to. The same practical caution applies to anything valuable: keep the receipt with the item, photograph it before it leaves, and agree in advance what happens if it is refused, damaged, or nobody answers the door.

Local knowledge
Priced for how the GTA actually lives
Four things that change a gift wrapping and delivery quote here, and nowhere else.
AGCO line
Alcohol and cannabis are not gift errands in Ontario
Paid alcohol delivery here is licensed work — a licensed retailer or licensee, with age verified at the door — and cannabis may only be sold and delivered through authorized retail channels. A gift task is not an alternative route to either, and declining one is the correct answer rather than an unhelpful one.
Concierge desks
A GTA tower will often not accept a gift from someone who is not a courier
Many condo desks only take deliveries from carriers on their list, which quietly breaks the surprise: the recipient has to come down and collect it themselves. Ask the building before the day, and if the answer is no, plan the handover somewhere else rather than at the door.
Four calendars
This region has several gift seasons, not one
Diwali, Eid, Lunar New Year and Christmas each concentrate wrapping and delivery into their own week, with their own colours and their own conventions for how a gift is presented. Naming the occasion in the task tells a Tasker more about the work than the item count does.
Blue bin rules
Glitter, foil and laminated wrap are not recyclable in Toronto
The city does not take metallic or laminated wrapping paper in the blue bin, and ribbon and bows tangle the sorting equipment. It is a small thing that decides what to buy: plain kraft paper takes the same time to wrap, looks deliberate, and actually goes in the bin afterwards.
What to put in the post
- How many items, and roughly what shapes they are
- Whether you supply the paper and tags, or want them bought to a brief
- The occasion, and the hour it has to be finished by
- Whether it is wrapped at your place or taken away and returned
- For a delivery, what happens if nobody answers the door
Anything perishable has a clock on it — say so, and say whether it has to stay cold.

Questions
Frequently asked
GTA-specific answers to what people actually search for.
Can someone wrap presents at my home?
Yes, and it is the most-booked work in this category. Say how many items there are and what shapes they take, since a box takes a minute and a bottle, a bicycle or a soft toy does not. Decide whether you are supplying paper and tags or want them bought.
Is this a gift shop or a delivery service?
Neither, and it matters. There is no catalogue and nobody holds stock. You are hiring a person who will wrap what you have bought, shop to your list and give you the receipt, or carry a gift to an address and hand it over. So the task should say what the gift actually is.
What happens if nobody is home?
Whatever you agreed beforehand, which is exactly why it belongs in the task. A neighbour, a second attempt, or the concierge if the building accepts it. Left on a porch in a GTA December is a poor outcome for a gift and a worse one for anything fresh or chilled.
Can a Tasker deliver alcohol or cannabis?
No. Paid alcohol delivery in Ontario is licensed work with age verified at the door, and cannabis may only be sold and delivered through authorized retail channels. A gift errand is not an alternative route to either, and a Tasker who declines that request is doing the right thing.
How far ahead should I book gift wrapping?
Earlier than feels necessary in December, because the demand across the GTA lands inside the same fortnight, and the same is true of the week before Diwali, Eid or Lunar New Year. Outside those windows a day or two of notice is usually plenty.
Can they buy the gift as well?
They can shop to a list and bring you the receipt, which is different from choosing it for you. Name the shop, the item, a ceiling on the spend and an acceptable substitute if it is out of stock. Agree who pays for the item itself up front rather than at the till.
