Trading in real estate in Ontario requires RECO registration. Representing a buyer or a seller is not something you can do by being useful, and no platform changes that. What is wide open is everything a listing needs before it goes live — and that is a longer list than most people realise, with a hard deadline attached to every item on it.

What the tasks actually look like

Listing photography and walkthrough video, virtual tours, drone exteriors where you hold what Transport Canada requires, floor plans measured on site, staging and de-cluttering before the shoot, a deep clean the day before, and sign installation and removal. Agents post to a date the listing goes live on, and that date does not move for anybody.

Can I take this work without a RECO registration?

Yes, for everything that is not trading in real estate. You cannot represent a buyer or seller, negotiate an offer, or show a property on an agent’s behalf unregistered. Photography, staging, floor plans, listing prep, cleaning and sign work are none of those things, and they are what actually gets posted here.

Who is posting these, and what do they care about?

Mostly agents preparing a listing, occasionally an owner selling privately. Agents rebook whoever hits the date, so turnaround matters more in this category than almost anywhere else on the platform. Put your delivery time in the offer beside your price — it is frequently the thing being compared.

What about drone footage of the property?

Flying for a listing is regulated by Transport Canada, and a pilot certificate plus a registered aircraft is the baseline for the kind of shot a listing wants. Say in your offer whether you fly and what you hold. Plenty of agents want the exterior and very few of them know to ask.
