Wash, fold, iron — the task nobody has time for

This is the least glamorous category on the board and one of the most repeatable. A household with three children, or somebody working two shifts, does not stop needing clean clothes, so a laundry booking that goes well tends to become a weekly one. It is also the rare category where the whole task can happen at your own machine while you get on with something else.

What the tasks actually look like

Wash-and-fold by the bag, a week of shirts ironed, bed linen stripped and remade, a run of curtains taken down and rehung, and collection for a household with no machine of its own — plenty of GTA rentals have none. Some tasks happen at your address and some at theirs. The task says which, and it changes the price completely.

Can I offer dry cleaning?

Not do it yourself. Dry-cleaning solvents are federally regulated and handled in licensed premises, so what you can honestly offer is collection and return: take the garments to a cleaner, pay, bring them back. Price the running around, and say clearly that the cleaner's own charge sits on top.

What if something is damaged in the wash?

Ask about anything that looks likely before you start — wool, silk, anything lined, anything dark and new. Photograph a stain you were handed rather than one you made. Most disagreements in this category are about a garment that was already going, and a photograph taken at handover settles them.

Do I need my own machine?

For work at your address, yes, and the dryer matters more than the washer — a poster wants the bag back the same day, and a GTA apartment balcony is not a plan in February. If you intend to work at their place instead, say so in the offer, because they may well be assuming otherwise.
