Cleaning work you choose, at a price you set

Most cleaning work is sold through agencies that take a cut of every hour and decide your route for you. Here the poster states what needs doing and what they have budgeted, and you decide whether it is worth your morning. A condo turnover and a four-bedroom deep clean are different work at different prices, and you price them differently.

What the tasks actually look like

Standard cleans, deep cleans, and move-out cleans where the deposit depends on the oven. Post-renovation work is its own thing — dust in places a regular clean never reaches. Posters describe the property and the state it is in, so you know before you offer whether it is two hours or a full day.

What Pickering is made of

Pickering is a lakeshore town with a rural back half. South of the 401 is 1970s and 1980s subdivision plus the towers at the GO station; north of it is Seaton, a greenfield community still being built, and beyond that farmland, hamlets and federal land that has been held for fifty years.

Seaton is a construction site the size of a town

Seaton is a planned community going up on greenfield north of the 401, and much of it is occupied while the rest is still being built. That means addresses map services have not caught up with, roads that end without warning, and a concentration of first-occupancy work — blinds, mounting, assembly, yard finishing — in one place. Nowhere else in Durham is being built at that scale at once.

A generating station and a national park bracket the town

Pickering has a nuclear generating station on its waterfront and Rouge National Urban Park along its western boundary. Both are large and neither carries through traffic, so the crossings between Pickering and Scarborough are fewer than the map suggests. Travel time out of west Pickering is worth checking before two bookings are put on the same afternoon.

The rural north is a separate service area

North Pickering is farmland, conservation land and hamlets — Claremont, Whitevale, Greenwood — much of it on land the federal government expropriated in 1972 for an airport that was never built and still owns. Addresses up there are on well and septic, the driveways are long, and winter access is a real question. It is a different task from the same work in Pickering City Centre.

Tasks come from Bay Ridges, Liverpool, Amberlea, Rougemount, Seaton and Dunbarton. You set the area you travel to, so you only see the ones you would actually take.

Questions

Cleaning work in Pickering

The ones people in this trade actually ask before they sign up.

Do I need my own supplies and equipment?

Say so in your offer either way. Some posters expect you to arrive with everything, some have a cupboard full and would rather you used it. Neither is standard, and the ones who care will tell you in the task.

Can I do only end-of-lease work?

Yes. You choose which tasks to make an offer on, so you can take only move-out cleans, only regular ones, or only the properties within a certain distance of you.

What happens if the place is far worse than described?

Message the poster before you start. The agreed price covers the task as described, and a task that turns out to be twice the work is a conversation, not something you absorb.

Taskly is new in the GTA. Fewer Taskers means your offer actually gets read instead of sitting behind two hundred others — and the people here first will hold the first reviews.

Every word of that is true, and it is the argument no big platform can copy.
