About the role
Taskly is hiring a Prompt Engineer (you may know the job as LLM Prompt Engineer or AI Automation Specialist) to teach language models how real people describe what they need. “Fix my leaking tap”, “ghar ki safai karni hai” and a blurry photo of a wall are all valid tasks. Each one needs the right category, a fair price suggestion and a safe, polite reply.
You will work with the founder and the engineers who build the AI features, and you will be the person who knows exactly where a prompt breaks. Within six months, we want eval sets in English, Hindi and Hinglish, a score for every prompt change, and at least two repeat jobs that now run by themselves.
What you’ll do
- Write and version the prompts behind the task classifier, moderation, price suggestions and the support assistant, with a changelog for each.
- Build eval sets of realistic tasks in English, Hindi and Hinglish with the correct answers, and score every prompt change against them. Include the awkward ones, such as a task written entirely in Hindi or half in English.
- Hunt for failures: vague posts, slang, mixed scripts, photos with no caption and tasks near the edge of what we allow. Turn each one into a test case.
- Tune the wording of moderation messages and refusals, so they are clear, firm and kind to the person reading them.
- Build automations in n8n or Zapier. Examples: sending low-confidence classifications to a person for review, or summarizing support requests for the team.
- Document every prompt: what it does, what it must never do and how to test it, so an engineer can change it safely.
- Work with engineers to move the prompts and automations that prove themselves into the product. Retire the ones that do not earn their keep.
What you’ll need
- 1+ years of working with LLM prompts in a job, an internship or a substantial project. You can show examples and eval results.
- Fluent English, and comfortable reading and writing Hindi and Hinglish.
- Hands-on experience with at least one LLM provider or open model, such as OpenAI, Groq or Llama, including structured JSON outputs.
- You have built a working automation in n8n, Zapier or Make that someone else relied on.
- Enough Python or JavaScript to run an eval script and read an API response.
- A methodical habit: change one thing, measure it, write down what happened.
Education: A degree in any field is welcome but not required; prompts and eval results you can show matter more.
Nice to have
- Another Indian language, such as Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu or Punjabi.
- Experience in content moderation or trust and safety, especially writing policies that people can follow.
- Experience at a marketplace (Airbnb, Uber, Urban Company, Swiggy, Airtasker, TaskRabbit, Upwork) or another two-sided product.
- SQL or spreadsheet skills for analyzing eval results and spotting patterns in failures.

About Taskly
Taskly is a marketplace for getting anything done. Someone posts a task in their own words — typed, spoken or as a photo — and people who have been reviewed and approved send offers at a firm price. They pick one, and it gets done: a TV mounted, a website built, a parent taught to use their phone. We’re live in Canada and India and opening to more countries, built by a small team that works remotely across India, the US, Canada and the UAE.

A 45-minute conversation with the person you’d work beside, then one paid day on a real problem, then a decision in writing, with the reason.
Do I need to speak Hindi for this role?
You need to read and write it comfortably, along with Hinglish. Many tasks arrive in a mix of English and Hindi, and you will judge whether the model understood them.
Something else? Ask it in your application. A person reads it and answers within ten working days.
We don’t use AI to screen, score or rank applications: a person reads every one. If you upload a resume, AI reads it only to pre-fill your form, and you check every field before you send.
Taskly is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome people of every background, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation and nationality, and we don’t ask about any of them. If anything about the process doesn’t work for you, tell us in your application and we’ll change it.
