About the role
The Growth Marketing Manager (you may know the role as Growth Manager, or an early Head of Growth) runs the experiments that bring people to Taskly and bring them back, on both sides of the marketplace. You’ll test referral loops, lifecycle email and WhatsApp messages, poster onboarding, and the path from Tasker application to first task done. Tasks range from mounting a TV to building a website, so supply in each category matters.
You’ll work with the Performance Marketing Manager, the Product Manager, engineers and operations. In six months you should have a growth model that shows where each side leaks, a running log of experiments with results written down, and at least two loops that keep working without paid spend.
What you’ll do
- Build a growth model for both sides: posters (visit, post, accept an offer, repeat) and Taskers (apply, get approved, send a first offer, finish a first task), and find the biggest leak in each. Update the model monthly with real numbers.
- Design and run experiments every week, writing a hypothesis, a sample size and a decision for each one. Stop a test early only for a reason you wrote down.
- Build and test referral programs for posters and Taskers, including incentives, fraud checks and cost per referred user. Work with operations so rewards cannot be gamed.
- Own lifecycle messaging over email and WhatsApp: welcome messages, nudges after an unfinished task, offer alerts and reactivation. Keep the tone plain and the claims true.
- Improve onboarding for new posters and for Taskers moving from application to approval to a first offer.
- Plan growth in new cities, including how many Taskers must be in place before demand is switched on, and when to scale. A city with posters and no Taskers is a worse launch than a quiet one.
- Share learnings with performance marketing, SEO and community, stop the channels that do not work, and report results to the founder in writing every week.
What you’ll need
- 4+ years in growth, lifecycle or product marketing at a consumer or marketplace product, with experiments you designed and the lift they produced.
- Strong analytics: SQL, funnels, cohorts and retention, and a clear view of what counts as a real result.
- Hands-on with lifecycle tools such as Resend, Customer.io, Braze or Mailchimp, and with WhatsApp Business messaging.
- Experience building a referral or onboarding loop that moved a metric.
- An understanding of supply and demand balance in a two-sided product, and the discipline to write up each test, including the failures.
- A willingness to roll up your sleeves: write the message, build the audience in the tool and check the results yourself.
Education: A degree is welcome but not required; experiments you ran and what they changed matter more.
Nice to have
- Experience at a marketplace (Airbnb, Uber, Urban Company, Swiggy, Airtasker, TaskRabbit, Upwork) or another two-sided product.
- Launches in both India and North America.
- No-code or light-code automation with Zapier, Make, n8n or JavaScript.
- Experience with WhatsApp Business API providers.

About Taskly
Taskly is a marketplace for getting anything done. Someone posts a task in their own words — typed, spoken or as a photo — and people who have been reviewed and approved send offers at a firm price. They pick one, and it gets done: a TV mounted, a website built, a parent taught to use their phone. We’re live in Canada and India and opening to more countries, built by a small team that works remotely across India, the US, Canada and the UAE.
