Cleaning work you choose, at a price you set

Most cleaning work is sold through agencies that take a cut of every hour and decide your route for you. Here the poster states what needs doing and what they have budgeted, and you decide whether it is worth your morning. A condo turnover and a four-bedroom deep clean are different work at different prices, and you price them differently.

What the tasks actually look like

Standard cleans, deep cleans, and move-out cleans where the deposit depends on the oven. Post-renovation work is its own thing — dust in places a regular clean never reaches. Posters describe the property and the state it is in, so you know before you offer whether it is two hours or a full day.

What Brampton is made of

Brampton is one of the newest built environments in the region and one of the largest. Most of its housing went up after 1990 on wide streets with double driveways, so access is rarely the constraint here — distance is. The city runs from Steeles Avenue to Mayfield Road, and crossing it takes real time.

The historic downtown sits in a regulated flood plain

The Etobicoke Creek runs under the Four Corners at Queen and Main, and the historic core around it has been inside a regulated flood plain for decades — the reason downtown Brampton stayed low-rise while the rest of the city went up around it. Work in those Victorian storefronts and semis is old-building work: small rooms, narrow stairs, and services retrofitted rather than designed.

The warehouse belt is a second city

The east and north-east of Brampton hold one of the country’s largest concentrations of distribution warehousing, hung off Highway 410 and Airport Road. That work is dock doors, pallet jacks and a gate pass rather than a front door, and it runs on shifts — so the useful hours in this part of Brampton are not the useful hours in Oakville or Richmond Hill.

New houses, side doors, two households

A city built mostly after 1990 is a city of full-height basements with their own grade entrance down the side of the house, and in Brampton that entrance is often a separate household. It changes the work before it starts: the map pin lands on the front door while the task is behind the gate, the ceiling downstairs is lower than the drawing suggests, and the person who booked may not be the person who answers.

Tasks come from Mount Pleasant, Springdale, Bramalea, Heart Lake, Castlemore and Downtown Brampton. You set the area you travel to, so you only see the ones you would actually take.

Questions

Cleaning work in Brampton

The ones people in this trade actually ask before they sign up.

Do I need my own supplies and equipment?

Say so in your offer either way. Some posters expect you to arrive with everything, some have a cupboard full and would rather you used it. Neither is standard, and the ones who care will tell you in the task.

Can I do only end-of-lease work?

Yes. You choose which tasks to make an offer on, so you can take only move-out cleans, only regular ones, or only the properties within a certain distance of you.

What happens if the place is far worse than described?

Message the poster before you start. The agreed price covers the task as described, and a task that turns out to be twice the work is a conversation, not something you absorb.

Taskly is new in the GTA. Fewer Taskers means your offer actually gets read instead of sitting behind two hundred others — and the people here first will hold the first reviews.

Every word of that is true, and it is the argument no big platform can copy.
