About the role
As a Business Development Executive at Taskly (some companies call it BDE or Business Development Associate), you bring independent pros and small businesses on as Taskers. Every city needs approved Taskers in the trades posters ask for most, from electricians to video editors. You find them, explain Taskly in plain words and walk them through approval.
You would cover India, Canada and the UAE, working with the founder and the operations side. Most of your day is conversations: calls, messages and follow-ups. You will learn the whole supply side of a marketplace, from the first message to a Tasker’s first finished task. Six months in, success looks like a steady weekly flow of approved Taskers in the trades that are short. It also looks like a few local-business partnerships that keep introducing new people on their own.
What you’ll do
- Find independent pros and small businesses on LinkedIn, Instagram and local directories. Start personal conversations instead of sending mass messages.
- Run discovery calls that explain how offers, firm prices and the roughly 80% Tasker payout work. Answer hard questions honestly.
- Guide each candidate through the application, the Stripe Identity check and review, until they can send a first offer. Chase the missing document or unclear profile line so no application stalls.
- Build partnerships with trade suppliers, coworking spaces, training institutes and community groups that can introduce Taskers or posters.
- Adapt your pitch to each market, including payment. It goes directly in India, and Taskly holds it until the task is done in Canada.
- Track every lead in a CRM. Report weekly on applied, approved and first-offer rates, and flag which trades are short in which city.
- Tell the founder what makes good pros hesitate and where the approval steps ask too much.
What you’ll need
- 1–3 years in business development, inside sales, partnerships or field recruiting, ideally for a marketplace, gig platform or services business.
- A number you moved, such as sign-ups, activations or meetings booked, and a clear account of how you moved it.
- Hands-on use of a CRM (HubSpot, Zoho CRM or similar) and Google Sheets to keep a pipeline honest.
- Confident cold outreach by LinkedIn, email and phone, in clear English that sounds like a person. You also know when a pro is simply not the right fit.
- The discipline to log every conversation the same day, and to follow up when you said you would.
Education: A degree is welcome but not required. A record of signing up people who then stay active matters more.
Nice to have
- Experience at a marketplace (Airbnb, Uber, Urban Company, Swiggy, Airtasker, TaskRabbit, Upwork) or another two-sided product.
- Fluency in Hindi, Arabic, Punjabi or another language that many pros in your market speak.
- A network of tradespeople, freelancers or local-business owners in Toronto, Dubai or an Indian metro.
- Experience adapting one pitch for different markets, or writing short outreach in more than one language.

About Taskly
Taskly is a marketplace for getting anything done. Someone posts a task in their own words — typed, spoken or as a photo — and people who have been reviewed and approved send offers at a firm price. They pick one, and it gets done: a TV mounted, a website built, a parent taught to use their phone. We’re live in Canada and India and opening to more countries, built by a small team that works remotely across India, the US, Canada and the UAE.

About 1–3 years. It’s a guide, not a cut-off: if you can do the work described here, apply.

Pay isn’t listed here yet. It depends on the country you work from and your experience, and it’s discussed openly in your first conversation.

Do I need to have sold software to apply?
No. Experience bringing on freelancers, vendors, merchants or local businesses counts just as much, because the skill is the same: explain clearly, follow up and be honest about what the product does.
Something else? Ask it in your application. A person reads it and answers within ten working days.
We don’t use AI to screen, score or rank applications: a person reads every one. If you upload a resume, AI reads it only to pre-fill your form, and you check every field before you send.
Taskly is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome people of every background, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation and nationality, and we don’t ask about any of them. If anything about the process doesn’t work for you, tell us in your application and we’ll change it.
