About the role
The Associate Product Manager role (also called APM, Junior Product Manager or Product Analyst) suits someone early in product who learns by owning small, real pieces. You’ll take a narrow slice of Taskly, such as the screen where a poster compares three offers or how a new Tasker finishes a profile, and make it measurably better. Tasks range from mounting a TV to editing a video, so you will learn fast how different jobs need different screens.
You’ll work with the founder, designers and engineers every day, and sit in on Tasker approvals and dispute reviews to see where the product lets real people down. In six months you should own one metric, have shipped several small changes in Canada and India, and write specs that engineers can build from without asking twice.
What you’ll do
- Write clear specs and acceptance criteria for small features such as offer sorting, profile prompts and empty states. Sit with the engineer who builds each one.
- Analyze data in SQL and GA4 to find where posters drop out between describing a task and choosing an offer. Bring the answer, not the dashboard.
- Interview posters and Taskers in Canada and India each week, and summarize what you heard on one page. Quote people accurately.
- Track the weekly metrics for your slice and flag anything that moved. Offer a first guess at why, and say how you would check it.
- Review the classifier’s category choices and price suggestions on real tasks, and log the ones that look wrong for the team to fix. Group the errors by type.
- Run small A/B tests and write up every result, including the ones that fail.
- Keep the backlog in Linear tidy, with an owner, a size and a reason behind each priority.
What you’ll need
- 0–2 years in product, analytics, consulting, operations or a related role; internships and shipped side projects count.
- Working SQL: joins, aggregations and window functions on a real dataset.
- Clear writing: you can explain a problem and a proposed fix on one page.
- Comfort with a spreadsheet and a product-analytics tool such as GA4, Mixpanel or Amplitude.
- Evidence of ownership: a project, internship or side build where you set the goal and measured the result.
- Availability for the shared window each weekday, 8:30–10:30 am Eastern.
Education: A degree is welcome but not required; what you have built and analyzed matters more.
Nice to have
- Something you built and shipped yourself: an app, a no-code tool, a newsletter or a community.
- Experience at a marketplace (Airbnb, Uber, Urban Company, Swiggy, Airtasker, TaskRabbit, Upwork) or another two-sided product, even as an intern.
- Skill reading Figma wireframes and giving designers useful feedback.
- Curiosity about LLM features: prompts, classification and how to check whether they work.

About Taskly
Taskly is a marketplace for getting anything done. Someone posts a task in their own words — typed, spoken or as a photo — and people who have been reviewed and approved send offers at a firm price. They pick one, and it gets done: a TV mounted, a website built, a parent taught to use their phone. We’re live in Canada and India and opening to more countries, built by a small team that works remotely across India, the US, Canada and the UAE.
